PRIME is an interesting concept.  There's all kinds of fabulous things that are PRIME -- Prime Rib Roast (yummy), Prime Meridian (earth), Prime Directive (Star Trek), Prime Jedi (Star Wars), Prime Lending (finance), Prime Unicorn Index (investing), the Prime Minister (UK),  and Amazon Prime (shopping).  

So when both 137 (beach hill) and 271 (floral) were prime numbers -- we figured FIP PRIME REAL ESTATE -- simply had to be our name. Yeah, we know it's kind of geeky, but also appropriate. 

A prime number is a whole number greater than 1 whose only factors are 1 and itself. A factor is a whole numbers that can be divided evenly into another number. The first few prime numbers are 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29..... 137 and 271.

In 1999, we purchased our first home from its original owners Cott-Leedam. From the many stories about our house told and written, Cott-Leedam commissioned famous architect Horrance Gifford to build the house in 1962.  

Originally, the treeless, low-lying lot needed privacy, so Gifford created a courtyard that separated the living rooms from the sleeping quarters by creating a protected outdoor space.  

Today, the large wooden sliding/pocket doors are used to have intimate dinners in the evenings or on occasion closed to simply have a little privacy.  

And so it is... AN OPEN AND SHUT CASE FOR PRIVACY.

SPARROW HOUSE

The sparrow is associated with freedom. At one time, sailors got a tattoo of a sparrow for every five thousand nautical miles they traveled.

Sparrows were believed to bring good luck. Sometimes the sailor got his sparrow tattoo even before leaving the docks, hoping it would act as a talisman and help bring him safely home again.
